Details of opening and ending in performing Tenshingoso Dai

To read before performing : This page contains small video about details of feet movements starting and ending the performing of Tenshingoso-dai. Before engaging into its study, you should already know how to perform Tenshingoso-sei and Tenshingoso-dai. Watch this video carefully several times then perfom the kata by imitation.  Remember that you should engage carefully into the full expression of the kata, especially from the initial "U(m)" to "A" phase, as the sudden opening might make you dizzy.  We strongly recommand you to get a regular advise on your practice by meeting a qualified Shintaido instructor. You may ask the contact of an appropriate instructor (language, location, etc.) to the webmaster.

Performance by Giovanni Rossi and Alain Chevet

Starting Tenshingoso-dai, you may put
one knee on the ground and open with
a kneeling step (hanmi)
You may also put both knees
on the ground
Or you may open in a wide stance
(shiko dachi)
Finally, you may open freely and let your
body  moves according to the situation,
concentrating only on expressing
the most of yourself in the movement
and shouting.
Remember to relax your shoulder and neck
as the sudden opening combined with the wild
expression of energy might let you feel
dizzy to the point of falling back. This should
be avoided absolutely.
On finishing, you might crouch back
in a half kneeling manner.
